1) NEW MEMBERSHIP
The process to enter the clan is;
a - Candidate: A candidate is any person which has shown potential interest in the clan, and has been granted access to our voice comms server for joint evaluation. If after playing with the clan the candidate is interested in joining the clan, the candidate should submit an application through the clan website.
b - Recruit: A recruit is a person that has been accepted into the clan in a probationary basis, to give the clan membership a chance to get to know the person better and evaluate the fit. The recruit period is 4 to 6 weeks.
c - Member: Potential members are voted by the Team Officers after the recruit timeframe, based on the recommendations and input given by clan members. All comments, votes, and recommendations are kept confidential and not shared with the new member.
During the screening process (candidate and recruit time) new recruits are screened for several requirements; Fit (Fun), Maturity, Teamwork, and Commitment. Recruits are able (and welcome) to participate in all clan practices and scrimmages. Recruits will only be able to participate in official ladder or league matches as backups should there not be enough members available.

2) DENIAL OF CONTINUED MEMBERSHIP
Members can be kicked off the clan if problems arise (evidence that member doesn’t fit with clan, or member breaking the rules) and continue after fair warning. If the member in question does not improve after being informed of his actions (by Team and/or Clan Officers), a vote on the member's clan status will be taken by the Command Team.
3) MULTI-CLANNING RESTRICTIONS
Restrictions for multi-clanning are limited. You may belong to another gaming clan or guild. However, you may not be active on the same game with another clan/guild if you are formally playing with on [RS]. While it is encouraged that you play with your RS team-mates, if you do belong to another clan that also plays the game you formally play with us, it is ok for you to team up in game and comms with them and play with them. (formally playing with RS means you represent RS on competitive events, and you wear the RS/Rogue Saints 'tags' in game).
4) ALIAS
4) ALIAS
Aliases are subject CT approval. All aliases must conform to the Code of Conduct and meet clan guidelines concerning the use of language.
You must pick and use (1) game name for use in game, forums, IRC, TS, etc, to prevent confusion. This name must be unique and different within the clan, and ideally within the gaming community where the clan plays. Because of the way internet voice comm works, it is very difficult to talk to people with long names. Usually people truncate those longer names when they speak anyway. For example, if we had a guy with the callsign 'Butcher Leonard', he'd probably be known as 'Butch' on comms. For this reason, your name must be either the one you wish to be called in game, or one that can easily be 'truncated'. This is the same name that should be listed on the website, and ideally on your email address. Follow these guidelines when creating an alias:
Make sure your name is either 3 syllables or less, or that it can be 'truncated' to that length.
Try not to be similar to any existing aliases in the clan; i.e. Butcher and Butch are too alike, you'd have to pick something else. Look on our Roster to see existing names.
Make sure it's something easily 'pronounceable' in comms. Try to have it be an english word, not a combination of letters or numbers. For example; X3R72 would not work.
5) TAGS
On games where clan members wear 'tags', you must show your clan tags if you are an active member of that team. Clan tags will be [RS] for members, and [RS-r] for recruits. Although they have VOIP access, candidates will not wear tags.
CODE OF CONDUCT
1) SPORTSMANSHIP
Clan [RS] believes in sportsmanship and maturity, and ‘unsportsmanlike’ conduct is not permitted. First and foremost, there is no cheating allowed. If you are caught cheating, you'll be kicked from the clan and banned from the [RS] servers and forums without any second chances. Other behavior which is generally considered unsportsmanlike in game is also not permitted.
2) PUBLIC BEHAVIOR
Your behavior in public forums, servers, and any other communication media reflects on the clan, and the clan prides itself on maturity. There will be no cursing, swearing, or acts or disrespect on any servers, forums, or any form of [RS] communication. We expect clan members will always treat people fairly and with respect. "Flaming", insulting, and otherwise immature acts are not acceptable behavior for a clan member (whether he is wearing clan tags at the time or not). While you are a member of this clan, you represent [RS], and must behave accordingly.
3) SERVER RULES
Based on the standards above, our rules for server play are simple:
No cheating or public accusations of cheating
No profanity
No treating others with disrespect (definitely includes derogatory or insulting remarks)
No intentional team killing
No complaining about how server is setup (if you want something changed, ask nicely and then let it go). If you go out there to have fun and have a good time, you will enjoy your stay. We are a welcoming, good natured bunch, and if you are like us, you will have a good time. However, if you want to go there to TK, complain that you can't play certain mods or specific gametypes or server setups (it's okay to ask in a nice way), and complain every time you get shot, then you'll have more fun elsewhere.
We have a clear policy as to how to handle people that violate the rules while playing on our servers:
First violation, You get a warning
You continue, you get booted
You continue, you get banned
However, depending on the violation, steps can be skipped. For example, if it's clear you are cheating, or it's clear you are TK'ing on purpose, you'll be banned without warning.
These rules apply to any server on which you are playing, not just the Rogue Saints servers. You are required to follow posted rules of any non-[RS] server you are on. If their rules are not to your liking, please find another server to play on. Please do not allow yourself to be baited by other players into breaking either our general rules for server play or the posted rules of the specific server you are on. Remember that the best way to deal with flame-baiters, team killers, and the like, is to either ignore them, leave (if it is on a non-[RS] server) or report/boot/ban if it is on one of our own servers.
Also, if you are invited to join us on voice comms, we enforce the same rules on our voice communication server.
4) FORUM RULES
These rules are posted on all our forums:
Keep it clean. No cussing or swearing.
Treat others with respect. No flaming.
No derogatory or otherwise insulting remarks.
No porn.
No warez or otherwise illegal material.
The moderators and admins can edit posts that 'cross the line' with regard to vulgarity, profanity, or offensive material.
Moderators and admins can ban people for violating the rules after fair warning is given.

COMMITMENT
1) INACTIVITY
We expect all active members to show up, help out (share in the responsibility of running the clan), practice, and have fun with the clan. However, we are all adults and life can often get hectic. We define inactivity as not being able to participate on a weekly basis. If you are going to be inactive over a long time, be polite and notify the clan and the Command Team. If you are inactive, you can still play with us on public games and practice with us. However, you may not be able to match if you aren’t an active member and cannot attend team practices on a regular basis.
2) PUBLIC PLAY
On most of our games, if the game allows for it, we try to host our own game servers if possible. If the team has a game server, the expectation is that you play on our server as much as possible. This will not only help ensuring the clan plays together, but will also ensure the server stays populated.
If the team you are playing with does not host it's own game server (whether because the team is an MMO, because the game doesn't allow for dedicated servers, or because the team cannot afford a game server at the time), the expectation is you will all still play together while on the same comms channel.
Also, we often get together on public servers at times outside of scheduled practice. When playing together on a public server, and if possible, play on the same team as one team, practicing the clan’s team tactics.
3) PRACTICE PARTICIPATION
Some of out teams are designed to play competitively in tournaments, leagues and ladders. On those teams, we schedule practice nights each week in order to develop teamwork skills and prepare for competitive play. You are encouraged to make as many of these practices as possible, but we understand that real life commitments and issues will prevent you from being able to make it at times (we are all adults).

4) MATCHES
When we have a match, those who have made practices will have a priority on game time over those who have not for participating in the match. Priority will also be placed on those who RSVP. We expect people to follow the established battle plan during match play and match practice and follow the direction of the in game chain of command.
STRUCTURE
1) CLAN STRUCTURE
The clan is organized into 'Teams' (each team playing a different game). Each Team will have it's own Command Team (each with a Team Leader, a Team Deputy, and often a Team Recruiter and/or other specific roles). The clan, and the Team CTs are led by the Senior Command Team, which consists of the Clan Leader, the Clan Deputy, the Clan Recruiter, and Clan Advisors.
Membership hierarchy is thus:
Candidate
Recruit
Member
Officer (member of a Team Command Team)
Senior Officer (member of Senior Command Team)
The Clan hierarchy is appointed by the Clan Leader. Leadership of the clan and performace of day to day operations is the responsibilty of the Command Team (CT), which shares clan organizational responsibilities as well as membership decisions.
2) COMMAND TEAM
The Senior Command Team is comprised of the Clan Leader, the Clan Deputy (2nd in command), the Clan Recruiter, the CT Advisors, and the Website Admin. The Clan Leader and the Clan Deputy own the general clan direction, membership, determination of what teams to sponsor, integration of all teams, and management of the clan website and forums (again, they can choose to delegate some of those tasks to other team members). They will often delegate recruiting to a 'Clan Recruiter' (which will be considered the 3rd in command for the clan), and website and forums administration to a 'Website Admin'. Additionally the position of CT Advisor is held by a select few of our most senior members. Most are former Clan Leaders or long standing Clan Officers. CT Advisors perform a wide variety of official and non-official functions. SCT personnel can also be leaders on one of the Teams.
Each Team Command Team will be led by a 'Team Leader' and a 'Team Deputy' (2nd in command) which will split organizational responsibilities within that team (Recruiting, Ladder/Tournament Sign-up, Match Scheduling, Events/Practice/Match Planning, Training, Team Server setup and administration). Recruiting will often be delegated to a 'Team Recruiter', which will also be considered the 3rd in command of that team.
There are no restrictions on how many positions one person can hold, as long as they can handle it. Team Members can be members of as many of the clan’s teams as they like.
Exceptions to any of the rules stated on this document must be agreed upon by vote of the Command Team. However, the Clan Leader has final say and has veto power over any decision.
It is very important to point out that the Command Team is there only for clan organizational and membership reasons. Other than that, all members have equal say and vote on clan direction decisions, and are all encouraged to help out within the clan. There are no ranks within [RS].
3) IN-GAME LEADERSHIP
It is very important to point out that the Command Team is there only for clan organizational and membership reasons. Other than that, all members have equal say and vote on clan direction decisions, and are all encouraged to help out within the clan. There are no ranks within [RS].
3) IN-GAME LEADERSHIP
In-game mission/event leadership (specific term for in-game leader will vary game to game) will be rotated among members that have demonstrated both interest and skill to do so. Members with said interest and skill should let Team CT know, and Team CT will determine who will be designated Mission leadership on an event by event basis. All Command Team members should be able to be Mission leaders in game.
4) NEW TEAMS
New teams (playing in games we currently do not play in), and associated Team CT, can only be formed by the approval of the Senior Command Team. Generally, only current team members can form new teams (unless the command team decides to let another clan merge). If a member is interested in forming a new team, that member should approach the SCT.
OTHER
1) COMPLAINTS
1) COMPLAINTS
Any complaints should be sent to the appropriate Team Leader and/or Team Deputy over email or in a forums Private Message. If it's not clear which Team CT would be appropriate, or if a general issue or concern, please contact the Clan Leader and/or Clan Deputy.
2) CONTRIBUTIONS
Each team is responsible for their own server costs, with the clan membership responsible for joint costs (clan website, clan teamspeak). However, even though all members are encouraged to help out, no one is required to in order to be a member of the clan.
3) SERVER OWNERSHIP
While different individuals may volunteer to support the clan by holding the accounts for the various servers (website, VOIP, game), it is the Rogue Saints clan that 'owns' the server. As a result, access/setup of the servers will be controlled by the clan (for website, VOIP), or team (for game servers) CT.
4) HAVE FUN!
These guidelines are designed to ensure you have fun! They have worked in the past from experience, and are a way to achieve our goals to have fun through teamwork and maturity. However, if you think they are getting in the way of having fun and they need adjustment, let us know! If you are a member of this team, this is YOUR clan.
